This month marks the one year anniversary of my blog! My very first post was written with such skepticism and here I am a
year later writing with much more authority. I just wanted to thank everyone
who has subscribed or followed my adventures this year. Receiving your

As I spent time reading through my old posts, I was left reflecting on my personal growth in the last year. I'm certainly no Edgar Allan Poe but I've been known to write a silly rhyme or two in my day. I'd like to share this poem with you that captures some of the lessons I've learned in the first year of mommy-hood:
Being Mom
I am soft, I am silly
better watch out for that next wet willy
I cry when I'm happy, I laugh when I'm sad,
a hug is the best medicine when I'm feeling mad
My ego is no longer a driving force
the support of my family now keeps me on course
Take judgment and criticism and put it away
it doesn't really matter at the end of the day
There will always be a list to do
but what I want most is to be with you
Crushed goldfish in three cheese flavour
who really cares when there's a moment to savour
These are the ways that I have grown,
after becoming a mommy, who would have known
